A Supernova is an explosion created by a dead star, often resulting in the star obtaining un-fathomable amounts of light for short periods of time. There are two types general types of supernovas:
Type | : These occur in binary star systems in which gas from one star falls on to a white dwarf planet causing it to explode Type || : These occur in stars at least ten times larger than the Sun, which suffer runaway internal nuclear reactions at the ends of their lives, leading to an explosion. They leave behind neutron stars and black holes. |
